A New Addition To Our Team

June 17, 2021

We are thrilled to introduce Melodi Lewis as our summer InSpero intern. She is helping with our social media, website, newsletter, and pursuing stories of healing and hope in our city. We asked Melodi to share a little a little bit about her life with you:

Hello InSpero Community!

I am a writer with a creative spirit and rising graduate of UAB. I grew up living in vastly different cultures- Icelandic, Japanese, and the in the northern area of the US, but have made Birmingham my home for the past four and half years.

During my time at UAB, I enjoyed my work as an ESL teacher in Birmingham and South Korea, interning with the Iron City Church College Ministry, and volunteering with UAB's professional writing club.

After graduation, I hope to continue in my career as a writer and creator through telling stories writing poetry, songwriting, and other forms of storytelling.

In my time with InSpero, I aspire to grow in telling stories, connecting with the needs of my local community, and contributing to the healing of our city through art.

Beauty matters and so do you. Help us share the beauty in Birmingham by following us on our Instagram or Facebook. You can also connect with us through joining our newsletter.
